Regulatory Compliance Officer - North America

Job Description: 

Foundever™ is seeking a North America Regulatory Compliance Officer to lead local compliance programs in North America.

 

The "Global Compliance Program" at Foundever includes three primary pillars:

 

  • Operational Compliance
  • Corporate Compliance
  • Privacy Compliance

 

As a Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for the following local compliance programs:

 

  • Operational Compliance; ensuring client and regulatory compliance with CFPB, Dodd-Frank, and FCRA rules.
  • Corporate Compliance; managing adherence to business ethics rules, such as Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABAC), as well as addressing AML and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML-CFT) matters.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate and Operational Compliance this role offers the opportunity to implement, monitor, and continually enhance local compliance programs within the designated geographic area.

Responsibilities 

 

  • Knowledge & Advice:
    • Understanding and keeping informed of state and local regulatory requirements regarding applicable business ethics laws or regulations;
    • Providing advice and guide local leadership regarding compliance related activities;
    • Providing subject matter expertise and guidance on country specific regulatory changes;
    • Responding to client-related requests such as RFP’s and contract clauses.

 

  • Risk assessment and mitigation:
    • Performing country-specific compliance risk map for North America and according to the methodology defined at global level to assess compliance risks;
    • Defining and implementing mitigation action plans;
    • Monitoring implementation of the remediation actions in a timely and efficient manner;
    • Reviewing compliance processes and evaluating gaps to strengthen operational controls.

 

  • Monitoring and internal control – link with Internal Audit:
    • Defining and monitoring KPIs in the deployment and efficiency of Local Compliance Programs using a “compliance action plan grid”;
    • Developing annual compliance internal control plans and coordinating internal audits, local personnel, and internal resources.

 

  • Third party review:
    • Conducting periodic reviews and assessment of ABAC/ AML-FT risks from projects and third- party clients and suppliers, including screening on sanctions and PEP lists;
    • Advising management on the selection or continuity of relationships with third parties.

 

  • Third party audit – contracts and questionnaires:
    • Implementing Operational Compliance and Corporate Compliance frameworks for monitoring, assessing, and handling remediation actions necessary to mitigate potential regulatory or contractual violations and risks with regard to third parties;
    • Validating contractual language to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, and contract requirements;
    • Preparing and presenting assessment reports with remediation recommendations to senior management and executives;
    • Managing the exemption process and gather, assign, and track approvals;
    • Managing client audits and internal assessments.

 

  • Continuous improvement:
    • Creating, implementing and performing annual review of local compliance policies and procedures;
    • Developing local compliance procedures consistent with Foundever global policies and procedures.

 

  • Training:
  • Provide content for compliance training for all associates based on identified risk and risk mitigation strategies defined at local level and validated at global level.

 

  • Communication:
    • Developing local compliance communications, including on policies, processes, and procedures, and promotion of the values and corporate culture of the Group regarding business ethics; Participation to group-wide communications or events organized at global level.

 

Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or degree in law is preferred; and advanced degrees or certifications in compliance are a plus.
  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, regulatory filings, licensing, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of state, local and global regulations and their implications for the company.
  • Excellent knowledge of compliance principles, including CFPB, Dodd-Frank, and FCRA rules ABAC and AML-CFT.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards.

Salary Range 

 

The base pay range for this position is $150,000 - $160,000 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience.
