Sitel is looking for a Director, PMO that can work virtually or at one of our locations.   You will be joining our Project Management team. Within our team, you’ll join an energized and positive organization dedicated to rolling up their sleeves to deliver value-added services for our clients.

As a Director, PMO you will be responsible for the management of a centralized project management team. This role oversees driven projects to ensure that information concerning content (e.g., deliverables, risks, issues, etc.) passes to and from sponsors.

Responsible for performance management of the PMO and ensures that project managers are positioned to meet the objectives and goals of each project. Provides leadership in best practices and is highly customer-focused -- outward and upward.

Additionally, this role ensures that the operational issues of the PMO are managed, focusing on the interface with project leaders, project teams, and technology interface issues.

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Ensure that the Sitel PMO process standards are met for each implementation.
  • Development and presentation of project plans and cost/benefit analyses for plans/ideas/products to upper management in order to gain approval to move forward.
  • Identifying key management and non-management personnel to participate in short-term project teams based on broad knowledge of technology, marketing, legal compliance, finance and operations.
  • Support and coordination of work amongst the members of the project management group. Identification of resource needs (staff and budget) throughout the year.
  • Responsible for hiring and overseeing performance management for the senior project management team
  • Development of project management certification models, performance plans, (SKEPS) and evaluation models.
  • Communicating project status to appropriate stakeholders, by preparing weekly reports and other ad hoc status reports.
  • Responsibility and accountability for project success and ensuring that project milestones are delivered with quality, on-time and within targeted budgets, meeting or exceeding internal or external customer expectations.
  • Manages the project manager resource model and project repository.
  • Creation of project management templates (plans and dashboards).  Identification of tools, techniques and establishment of project management documentation retention policies.
  • Support sales team members by providing text for proposals and developing sample project timelines.
  • Design and facilitate Project Management training programs and coaching.  Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions among project managers.
  • Ensuring that the project management group carries out skillful application of the Sitel Global Operating System (GOS).
  • Collection of performance evaluations on each project manager at completion or discontinuation of each project.
  • Ensuring that initial project plans can be compared with built-out project plans and with the final project plan to provide performance measurements and information for process improvement; ensuring that performance evaluations are provided for each team member to their designated operational managers at the completion or discontinuation of each project.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities and delivering process improvement; evangelizing project management methodology through training, role modeling and influencing operations teams.
  • Maintenance of project management group budgeting and scheduling.
  • Maintenance of project management group software and hardware purchases.
  • Serve as Project Manager (as needed).

 

Experience Target:

  • 8 or more years of project management experience, including handling large scale, international deployments.
  • 3 or more years of being in a leadership role, with experience in directly managing project managers. 

Education

  • Four-year college degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: 

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project.

 

Special Certifications:

  • PMP certification, required.
  • Quality and auditing certifications (Six Sigma), preferred.

 

Travel Required:

  • 50-60% domestic and international travel.
