We are currently looking for a Payroll Specialist.  This role will be located in our beautiful corporate headquarters in downtwon Nashville, TN (Gulch area).

Summary of Primary Job Responsibilities

Performs a variety of routine functions in accordance with standard accounting principles in the Payroll area.   Prepares bi-weekly payroll entries, bonus and other miscellaneous one-time payments. Upload payroll processing files from different systems and ensure accuracy of all files. Maintain and upload all Kronos time keeping files.  Provide reports as needed for reconciliation and audits. Works with other departments, and/or outside organizations to resolve problems. Responsible for documenting and updating payroll processes and procedures. Understand regulations regarding multistate tax and garnishments, Ensures all payroll processes are executed appropriately and in a timely manner.

 

Typical Qualifications

Education: School education or GED equivalent required.  Some college or post high school education in finance/accounting preferred

 

Experience Target:

Three or more years of Payroll, ADP, Success Factors and/or Kronos experience required. Multistate garnishment and Multi-state tax experience preferred

 

Skills

Strong mathematical, computer, spreadsheet and analytical skills; basic accounting skills, very organized; strong interpersonal skills, maintains confidentiality, ability and willingness to seek process improvements

 

Knowledge/Abilities

Very detail oriented and recognize the importance of data integrity; thorough knowledge of Payroll principles and practices; ability to research and problem solve effectively. PC proficient with the ability to use a variety of software packages to include ADP, Word, Excel, and Outlook.  Ability to provide excellent customer service and business partnership.  Ability to capture the detail of a situation and communicate accurately and completely either verbally or in writing.  Ability to prioritize and adjust to deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.  Disciplined self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.  Team player with a positive attitude.

 

Special Certifications:

 FPC, CPP preferred

Essential Functions:

  1. Maintain garnishment uploads to ADP, assist with tax setup, reporting, and audit. 20%
  2. Import employee pay and benefit data into ADP.  Process bonus spreadsheets and other miscellaneous one-time payments. 30%
  3. Fund Aline pay cards, as needed.  20%
  4. Respond to emails /phone calls from HRIS Administrators and external organizations. 20%
  5. Special projects, as necessary. 10%
