Synopsis of the Warehouse Specialist/Shipping Agent

Perform physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distribution of Workshop Loan equipment.

Essential Functions

  • Shipping
    • Stage equipment, neatly packaging items that will be sent to end users
    • Scan cases and serialized items
    • Print and attach shipping labels checking addresses for errors and set numbers on labels match the container’s bar code
    • Place tracking numbers on packing slips
    • Place necessary documentation inside the cases
  • Receiving
    • Scan cases and serialized items
    • Check for broken or missing items, log all discrepancies appropriately in the system
    • Repackage equipment ensuring equipment is neatly packaged for next customer, rewind/replace cables as needed
    • Ensure extra batteries are available in set, if not replace within set
    • Notify Navigator Specialist of Navigator/Laptop receipts for quality checks and deactivation
    • Place equipment in its proper area in the storage area
  • Product Updates (changing batteries, loading OSs, loading apps)
  • Assist team with Priority Tasks –As Needed (urgent shipping and receiving needs –including moving equipment)
  • Special Projects (conference equipment preparation, inventory counts, room clean-up, etc)
  • Additional Tasks –These may be asked of you at any time to help the team

Critical Skills and Job Complexity (not addressed in Section 2)

  • Self-starter, willing to take the initiative
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to handle routine tasks daily
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and written communication skills
  • Ability to speak and express ideas clearly and concisely both written and verbal
  • Ability to interface with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds
  • The ability to listen and use good judgment
  • Ability to work with teams and independently
  • Ask questions productively to ensure accuracy of information

Preferred Education and Experience

High school diploma or higher

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Ability to lift cases weighing 50 - 75 pounds
